This festival is held at the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang festival ground located at Dochula Pass which is located around 22 km from Thimpu. This place is one of the most scenic locations in the country. It offers stunning views of the Himalayas. The festival set against such beauty is an experience like none other. It is a true example of Bhutan’s rich culture and tradition. Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo built the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang. It was built over a period of four years (2004-2008) under her majesty’s supervision. It honors the courageous service of the fourth king.
