Trekking to Everest Base Camp (EBC) is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, and having experienced, professional guides and dedicated porters made the journey not only possible, but truly unforgettable. Its possible with Third Rock Adventure. Our guide Man Tamang handled everything from managing our teahouse accommodations to checking on our health daily to prevent altitude sickness. Our porters Evan and Nima deserve immense respect and recognition. Carrying heavy loads across rugged, high-altitude terrain is no small task, and they did it with smiles and grace. Many were shy and soft-spoken, but always willing to share a smile or help with bags. They would often arrive at our next teahouse long before us, having already prepared our duffels for our arrival. It’s humbling to realize the trek wouldn’t be possible for many of us without their strength and support.
