Island Peak Climb

Summiting Island Peak in October 2025 with Pawan and the team from Third Rock Adventure was an absolutely incredible experience. While the mountain itself is a formidable challenge, it was the team's skill and dedication that truly made our climb a success. From the start, they prioritized safety and proper acclimatization. A special mention must go to our Sherpa, Chewang. His technical skill on the ice headwall was impeccable, but it was his calm encouragement and unwavering confidence that truly got me to the summit. The logistics were handled perfectly, from the teahouse stays on the trek in to the setup at High Camp. They took care of every detail, allowing us to focus entirely on the climb. Three Passes Everest Base Camp Island and Mera Peak

ISLAND AND LOBUCHE PEAK CLIMBING WITH THREE PASSES TREK - 27 DAYS I had a great trip with Third Rock Adventures that I will happily remeber for the rest of my life. I did almost every activity in the Everst Base Camp Region that you can do without joining an expedition. We did Three Passes, Everest Base Camp including Kala patthar, as well as Gokyo with Gokyo Ri and five lakes, and even 2 Peak, Island Peak and Lobuche east. My trekking guide Lakpa was a great companion during the whole adventure. He knows the region very well and guided me safely. He also knows the names of all the peaks in the area. For climbing I went with Chhewang, who is a very experineced climbing guide. He has summited Mt. Everst 4 times and the peaks we went to 300 and 250 times respectively. I felt very safe with him and learned a lot for my future climbing. Mostly I have to thank Naba who organised the whole adventure. He also resceduled in short notice because my friend and travel companion sustained an injury before we could embark on the journey. Initially we planed to do Mera and Island Peak, but when my friend got hurt, Naba organised this new trip for me. Great Island Peak climbing with Three Passes

I chose Third Rock Adventures to climb Island Peak. From the first contact via WhatsApp I had a good feeling with owner Naba. He is always willing to help you with questions and always responds quickly. For acclimatization, I walked the Three Passes Trek with guide Lakpa Sherpa. A very friendly and committed man. He knows a lot about the mountains and the surrounding area and always ensured my safety, not only during the walks but also with well-prepared safe food. He knows well what travelers want and always knew how to find good accommodations. The Three Passes was an amazing trek with indescribable views of the Himalayas. Mera Peak Expedtion

I took a peak climbing tour to Mera Peak in Oct/Nov. It was truly a journey of a lifetime. The trekking was very professional and well organized. There was a high level of focus on safety with an itinerary that minimized the risk of high altitude sickness. The climbing team lead by Chhewang– was competent, very friendly, and helpful. The kitchen staff produced tasty and hygienic prepared food even under difficult conditions. I had a wonderful trip to Mera Peak with the most astonishing views of the beautiful surrounding mountains. I can highly recommend “Third Rock Adventures” for peak climbing in Nepal.

Everest 3 Passes Trek With Island Peak Climb

We did this amazing trek combined with Peak climbing. Chewang was our guide who was full of energy and passion to do his work. The itinerary was customized for us. The price was good. For someone like me, who has barely trekked, let alone climbed a peak, it was a tough challenge. I was doubtful at some time but my guide Chewang was there by my side. He would encourage me to keep going and I would do. And hence I completed this adventure. Looking back, I sometime cannot belive that I climbed a peak in Nepal with no prior experience. Naba in Kathmandu, my fav city, was waiting for my return to have dinner. He shared the dinner table with his daughter and wife and I felt homely. They are such a nice family and runs a great company.

3 passes trek itinerary

We were amazed by how Chhewang climb the peak without a bit of worry. He led the pre-climb training for us the other day before climbing the peak from the base camp. We had a moment of celebration at the Everest base camp. We also explored Gokyo valley and had superb view of the Gokyo Lake. The three passes adventure was quite a challenge for us. We never thought that we would cover so many destination in about 20 days. Hats off to Chhewang Sherpa for his unbelievable job.

Everest passes trek

We somehow completed the challenging steps to three passes. Our climbing leader Chewang Sherpa motivated us everytime we need an ignition to move ahead. He would encourage our team to wait, take a breath, relax and take small steps. The same to the top of Island peak. It was challenging but we knew we were on the best hand for the peak expedition. On our brief meeting before flying to lukla, we had small discussion with Naba and he explained about Chewang's experience. We had the sigh of confidence with that knowledge. Every day, we had amazing experience, with local, Chewang himself and the mountain sight. There was not even a single second when we had doubt that we would not complete it. It was amazing adventure.

Amazing adventure with three passes

We had the best time doing this adventure. Chhawang Sherpa was a fantastic person for us. He made sure everything was going well. When climbing the peak, he was the one leading our group to the top of Island Peak. He would check us all and wait if we needed a break to catch our breath. He portrayed excellency at every step. 5-star Mera Peak

After doing EBC, AC, ABC and Mustang treks, I was keen to try for Mera Peak. The team (a big thanks to Naba, and Chhewang) and an excellent pre-climb training maximized our summit chances, and I was lucky enough to get to the top. The sparsely populated Hinku valley is a lot less developed than the Khumbu and Annapurna regions, hence the terrain is relentlessly difficult and the tea houses are basic at best with minimal showers and rustic toilets en route. The food is decent, and the team went to great lengths to ensure the group was properly nourished - especially at base camp and high camp pre-summit day.

Great Climbing Team

Great Team

Loved it

I did it. The doubt I had about not being able to climb to the top was cleared when Chewang demonstrated his skill on pre-climb training day and help me hone my climbing skill. It was a productive day that helped me for the final push to the top. Although the climbing is not-so-hard, it can be challenging to someone like me. Unforgettable trip in Nepal

I had a wonderful experience climbing Mera Peak. Right from the beginning, Leena answered all of my pre-trip questions thoroughly and the team made sure I was to the target, from welcoming to flights to trek and climbing. The trek itself was fantastic - the itinerary is planned with a long approach to aid in acclimatization, which is important when attempting a 6400m peak! My guide Chhewang was great and always made sure I had everything I might possibly need, and pointed out interesting things to see along the way. Great Climb

Successful Adventure

Naba and Leena organized it all in a friendly and efficient manner. Chewang is a highly knowledgeable and experienced climbing leader. The trek to Everest Base Camp was an interesting warm-up before climbing Lobuche Peak. We also hiked to Kala Patthar down the valley from Everest Base Camp to help the acclimatization process and get some stunning photos of the landscape. Trek and climb of a lifetime

Had a great time on the EBC trip and climbing to the top of the peak was no less adventurous. I had some of the best views of the mountains in the world. Can't get enough of the breathtaking views. My guide very responsive and worked very hard to make sure our trip went well. I didn't even come across a slight problem. Everything was smooth and perfect. Great Climbing

Just came back from Nepal after a 18-day peak climbing expedition-Lobuche Peak Climbing. My climbing leader was best at what he did, had years of experience summiting peaks in Nepal. He was knowledgeable and astute. My pre-climb training session was really helpful. He demonstrated every maneuver required for the final push to the summit. But before that, I had to trek to the most popular Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar and it was superb trekking experience. Loved the itinerary and the guide. Third Rock is truly a leading operator in Nepal. Highly recommended for peak climbing in Nepal. And choose Chewang for it.

Adventure trip to Island Peak climbing

Third Rock Adventures successfully arranged for me only for Island Peak. Chhewang Sherpa, an experienced climbing guide who already climbed Mt. Everest, fully attended me from Kathmandu to the peak. He was a very reliable and friendly guide I ever met. He properly arranged the equipment, tents, fixed ropes, etc, and arranged accommodation and food for mountains. 2 porters were there with us from Base Camp 4700m, High Camp 5100m. On the summit day, Chhewang kept on encouraging me and I successfully summited the peak. I almost lost my hope in the middle but it was all my guide who helped me accomplish my dream. It was a great adventure and a memorable trip. Highly recommended team of experts.

Successfully summitted Island Peak

Back to 2019, when I was 43 years olds, I climbed Island Peak successfully. Thinking today, it's like a dream. Never Have I Ever thought of climbing a peak. But with great connection with Mr. Naba and good communication with the travel expert, and experience of awesome climbing leader, I did it. All credit to the climbing leader who guided me and helped me step further, till the top of Island Peak. I am more than happy that I did it.It is one of the most memorable and adventurous trip of my life. Remembering those days in the Himalayas and camp, I feel honored to have done it. And I am proud of myself. Like I said earlier, all thanks to Climbing Leader and specially Naba for his great effort. He ensured me that I will be summiting and enjoying coffee in Thamel. Best adventure trip of my life, Chulu West Peak Climbing

We recently travelled to Nepal for peak climbing with local organizer Third Rock Adventures. When we arrive at Kathmandu, that was something different environment and we very excited to climb Island Peak. We met Mr. Chhewang Sherpa, our guide and we discuss and briefing about Island Peak. The next day, we fly to Lukla early morning after that we continuous trek different landscapes of mountain terrain was good experience. Our guide Chhewang told us to different information of Island peak and surrounded peak and also Sherpa culture. When we reached the Island peak base camp, weather was suddenly changed that was difficult for us but we reach the top of Island Peak, that was greatest memories of my life.From the top, Magnificent view of Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse and other peaks.
