I traveled with two friends to explore Bhutan with Third Rock! The attention and services provided by the agency exceeded our expectations! The initial arrangements were made with Mr. Naba, who was very attentive and always answered our questions promptly. The local guide, Mr. Ugyen, and the driver were exceptional! Always punctual and very courteous, they made us feel very comfortable. The hotels chosen by the agency were realy very good. After this trip, I understood why the people in Bhutan are considered the happiest in the world; the energy of the place is incredible, the people emanate peace, they live the precepts of Buddhism in their daily lives, the monasteries and stupas are also incredibly beautiful, especially Tiger's Nest. Experiencing and learning a little more about Buddhism was an experience that will remain etched in our hearts! Gratitude!!!

Best of Nepal and Bhutan, Autumn of 2026 Great Time to Visit
Naba and the Third Rock Team have developed a customer focused itinerary that provided a seamless vacation adventure. My trip started in Nepal in early October 2026 shortly after the political unrest in early September and I could not have felt more at ease and safe with the open and friendly residents of Kathmandu and Pokhara along with the highly supportive team at Third Rock. I went to enjoy the trekking in both Nepal and Bhutan, which was fantastic, but also had the bonus of experiencing the amazing cultural and historical aspects of both countries. Early this year I had been planned on trekking in Nepal or Bhutan and was very fortunate to discover that Third Rock had a combination of both countries. Looking at the reviews of Third Rock I could not understand how they were able to be so highly rated, but after working with them and living the adventure, I fully understood and agree with the perfect rating. The amount of time that Naba spent on coordinating the different aspects of the trip and the flawless execution of tours, treks and transportation in both countries left me without any worries. I speak highly of Naba, but the professionalism and dedication run deep through all the Third Rock team. With Third Rock’s guidance, I added a day to the front and back end of the standard tour and had Third Rock book the flight to Bhutan. This added some minor cost to the trip but was well worth it. I really enjoyed Kathmandu on the second day, there are so many places to see, which I spend the whole day walking through the city. The following day started the Nepal trekking adventure, and I met up my guide, Jaya, and the porter, Bishnu in Pokhara. We spent the next four days trekking with accommodations in tea houses. Jaya is an excellent guide; he knows the area and history. He also extended each day with a walking tour of each area that we stopped in. Upon arrival back in Kathmandu, the Third Rock team had a driver and cultural tour guide that took me to four historical areas in the City. I quickly realized the depth and breadth of the history of the city and had a much greater appreciation following the tours. This part of the trip was unexpected but very rewarding. The next leg of the trip was in Bhutan. Third Rock coordinated my flight and seats and made sure I had a window seat on the correct side of plane on both legs of the flight. Had a perfectly clear view of Everest on the way to Bhutan and a clouded partial view on the way back. Arrived in Bhutan in the morning and was greeted by my guide, Ugin, and driver Sangay. They took me around Paro to see the cultural aspects of the city. On the second day, Ugin took me up to Tiger’s Nest with full tour of the Monastery. On the third day we stated the 5 day trek in Bhutan which added a cook, a helper, a horseman and six horses. The trekking in Bhutan was much less traveled than in Nepal, ran into 5 groups over the 5 days. In addition, it is all in comfortable tents and great daily meals. Ugin was great and took me on some off the beaten path alternate routes which added elevation gain and mountain views. On the fourth day was able to see a lone Yak, albeit at distance. Spent the last night in Thimphu, which is a vibrant small capital city. I flew back to Kathmandu and did some more self-touring. The accommodations, food, transportation and Third Rock team were fantastic. I highly recommend Third Rock and realty appreciate the great time in Nepal and Bhutan.

I had wanted to do either a trek in Nepal of Bhutan, this trip Included both which made the long travel from US that much easier.
The Third Rock team is focused on customer experience; the differences in trekking accommodations; the seamless itinerary; the views and nature; and the rich history/culture of the area.
If you enjoy camping and solitude you will love Bhutan, if you like hostels/refugios you will enjoy Nepal, if you like history and culture you will love both. If you want to trek and be at the base of the tall mountains, you might want to consider a base camp trek. You will see mountains from a distance. Feel free to ask Naba and the Third Rock team for suggestions, they really know their business.

Wonderful Visit to Bhutan
My wife and I from the UK, together with our friends, a couple from Australia, had a wonderful 10-day visit to Bhutan in May 2025. Our guide, Ugyen was excellent. From the first warm welcome and throughout the trip. was very attentive to us, always asking if we needed anything and nothing was too much trouble. He was a very engaging host, teaching us about the history, society and culture of Bhutan, and about the Bhuddist way of life. We all found it very interesting and insightful. The driver, Gele, was also excellent - again always attentive and looking after us, but most importantly a very calm and safe driver in all the town and mountainside roads. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you, Ugyen and Gele, for looking after us and making it so special.
