Kathmandu, October 30
After the epidemic of coronavirus, a dozen destinations have become easy for open hiking. The government had opened the door to foreign tourists on October 17.
Since then, 12 destinations have become convenient for tourists, according to the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN). However, in some restricted areas of Savik in the Himalayan region, the entry of tourists is still restricted.
According to TAAN's General Secretary Sarita Lama, tourists and tourism entrepreneurs should follow health safety standards during the trek. There is a provision that a report with a negative PCR should be mandatory. You must stay in the hotel quarantine until the appointed day. Pedestrians must also have a walking permit.
Which destinations are open to tourists?
Among the open trekking areas in Dolpa, tourist arrivals have been tightened. According to General Secretary Lama, the PCR report of a tourist should be negative even if he arrives from any entry point. Such tourists will be able to enter Dolpa.
After entering, they will have to stay in quarantine for at least 14 days at their own expense. Only then will they be allowed to walk in Dolpa.
The government allows tourists to come to Nepal after reporting a PCR negative for the last 72 hours and booking for a 7-day hotel quarantine in Nepal. The entry of Dolpa has been tightened.
Although other trekking routes in the country are open, one of the most attractive footpaths in Annapurna has been closed by local tourism entrepreneurs. They have stopped the march, saying the coronavirus infection has not spread locally. According to Secretary General Lama, it is not possible to trek to Annapurna and Ghandruk immediately for the same reason.
The previous ban on the Everest trekking route to the Everest base camp has been lifted with conditions. The Khumbu Pasanglamu Municipality has lifted the indefinite ban imposed on October 26 by making a decision on October 25.
However, in private, only the PCR tests conducted by Hams Hospital, Star Hospital and B&B Hospital will be recognized by the village municipality. Earlier, Bhattarai had mentioned that a decision had to be taken, saying that people had entered the village even after taking fake report from a private hospital.
