Kathmandu, May 11
The ban on international flights in Nepal has been extended till May 31, 2021. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) informed all the airlines on Tuesday.
In the meantime, flights with India will continue twice a year. The government had earlier decided to ban scheduled flights until mid-April to control the coronavirus pandemic.
The government has extended the ban till May 31. In the meantime, airlines will be allowed to operate medical, chartered, and cargo flights.
After the extension of international flights, Nepalis going for foreign employment and returning from there will be directly affected. The travel of foreign tourists involved in mountaineering in Nepal will also be affected. Kathmandu's lockdown has been extended till May 27.
