In 8 Months, Tourist Arrival Exceeded Three Hundred Thousands

After the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the most affected tourism sector is gradually improving. From the beginning of 2022, the arrival has started to improve.

This continued even in August. According to the Immigration Department, only 41 thousand 304 foreign nationals came to Nepal in August 2022. Also, from January to August of 2022, a total of 326,667 tourists came to Nepal, according to the department's data.

August is the rainy season in Nepal. Therefore, it is generally counted in the months when there are fewer tourists. Before the Covid pandemic, 92 thousand 604 tourists came to Nepal in the month of August in 2019. Only 584 people arrived in 2020.

In the month of August 2021, 6 thousand 93 tourists came to Nepal. September is considered a new season in tourism. Businessmen are also excited by the advance booking of tourists for this season.

After the pandemic, there has been enthusiasm for the arrival of Indian tourists. According to the data, only 16 thousand 147 Indians came to Nepal in August. In the previous month (July), 17,299 Indian tourists came. On August, 4 thousand 66 tourists from America came to Nepal.

This is the second largest number. On July, 5 thousand 228 tourists from America came to Nepal. According to the department's data, 2 thousand 826 tourists from Britain, 1 thousand 751 from Bangladesh and 1 thousand 289 from China came to Nepal in August.

In the month of August, 80 thousand 353 Nepali citizens came to Nepal from abroad and 130 thousand 486 Nepalis went abroad.
