Nepal and China are preparing to announce the new height of Everest, the highest mountain in the world. Under the mutual agreement of “Memorandum of Understanding,” these two countries are preparing to announce the new height.
In 1955, the Indian team surveyed the height of Everest and claimed it to be 8848m. Similarly, in 1975, the survey conducted by the Chinese team concluded the same height. But in 1999, the Italian team measured it to be a little higher. Purportedly it is estimated that the height may have shrunk due to the massive Earthquake in 2015. And hence, to avoid confusion, Nepal, in collaboration with China, will measure the height of Everest.
