Myagdi - A study has begun on a new trekking route called the Dhaulagiri Icefall Trek, aimed at offering visitors breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain ranges, along with local biodiversity, culture, and village life.
A team made up of tourism experts, local leaders, and journalists is currently exploring the route to assess its potential as a trekking destination. The route starts from Beni and passes through Ruisedanda, Kholakharka, Sabang Dhuri, Kalibhara, Icefall, Sungathala, before returning to Beni.
Tourism experts Gyanendra Ghale, Dhrub Kumar Paija, and Rim Paija are part of the team, along with local journalists and community members.
The study is being carried out with financial support from the Nepal Tourism Board and Raghuganga Rural Municipality, and with technical help from Map House. Former Minister Tham Maya Thapa and Raghuganga Rural Municipality Chairman Bhava Bahadur Bhandari are actively involved in the project.
Officials hope the Dhaulagiri Icefall Trek will become a new highlight in Myagdi's tourism offerings.
