With the start of domestic flights, the number of tourists entering the busy tourist area of Solukhumbu, Khumbu, has started increasing.
Tourists have started entering the Khumbu area after the domestic flight, which was closed from April 23 due to increased risk of coronavirus infection, resumed on September 20.
According to the Jorsalle check post, 171 tourists have entered Khumbu in October.
Of them, 146 are Nepali, and 25 are foreign tourists.
According to Bhumiraj Upadhyaya, Conservation Officer of Everest National Park, 60 foreign and 162 Nepali tourists have entered the Khumbu area till Thursday.
A total of 393 Nepali and foreign tourists have visited Khumbu in October and November alone.
According to the check post, the number of Nepali tourists entering Khumbu is more than the number of foreign tourists.
Chief Conservation Officer of the park Upadhyaya said that foreign tourists have also started visiting Khumbu after the start of domestic flights.
Preparations have been made to orient the hotel operators to manage the food and accommodation of Nepali and foreign tourists visiting Khumbu so that the service flow will continue even between Corona Kahar.
