Best Time to Travel

You can do Tamang Heritage Trail all around the year except in the monsoon. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most popular time of the year to go on a trek, and it will be difficult to avoid the crowd. When trekking in spring, the days are pleasant and nights and chilly. Also, you can enjoy the uninterrupted mountain views. Spring is also the most colorful time of the year when rhododendron and wildflowers bloom. However, there lies a chance of occasional showers.

Autumn is another popular time of the year to trek. Monsoon would have ceased away, clearing the dust and impurities for you to enjoy stunning mountain views. There is the least chance of rainfall which is an added advantage. The best time of the year attracts trekkers from all around the year.

If you want to avoid crowds, then you can opt for a winter trek, but you need to have gears to enjoy the trek. In winter (December to February) daytime is warm, but it can get very cold at night. Also, winter is off-season in Nepal, and you will get to enjoy an off-season discount at tea houses. It is best to avoid trekking in the monsoon as clouds cover the astounding mountain views, and trekking trails are filled with leeches which add trouble.

Trek Difficulty

Tamang Heritage Trail is graded as an easy to moderate trek and is perfect for those who want to taste a Himalayan trek in Nepal. You will be trekking in rugged terrain and will be ascending and descending steep areas. Moreover, you need to be reasonably fit to do the trek. In a day, you will be walking for a maximum of 9 hours and a minimum of 3 hours. You will attain the trek's highest point at Tserko Ri, which is 4,984/16,352ft high.

Superb

The cultural immersion in Tamang villages, stunning landscapes, and the seamless organization by the team made this trek truly remarkable. Highly recommended for those seeking an authentic Himalayan experience. I loved the guide of Third Rock, he was attentive and super-friendly. He knew what he was doing, measuring time and distance perfectly. He encouraged me at times to keep up but slow pace. Thanks to him, his name is Shiva, a tall and friendly Nepali guide.

Amazing Family Trekking

My first visit to Nepal on 2020 with my wife and 2 kids aged 11 and 13 year old and we did Tamang Heritage Trail. Before that we did touring in city and visit Chitwan National Park and some small tours to Nagarkot. It was a great trek for family like mine. Our kid enjoyed the trail the entire day. We explored Parvathi Kunda and a brief time in hot spring at Tatopani. It was a retreat for my kid and us. And off course, we absolutely loved the village of Kyangjin Ri. Although my kid were not used to typical teahouse room and food, I had to let them be themselves. At times, they wouldn't eat but wasn't any option left for us. The guide helped us out settle with kid, he would dance and say hilarious and funny stuff. thanks to his personality, it helped us alot.
Wanted to take my family to always heard-langtang region of Nepal. (We have watched alot of videos on Langtang Trek)
My kids enjoying the trail, my true-happiness.
Just do it. If you want to do treks other than Everest and Annapurna trek, this is a trek for you or your family.

Tamang Heritage Trail

I completed the Tamang Heritage two week trek. It's one of the most beautiful trails I ever traversed. The trek was amazing, everything was brilliant, specially the old typical houses, people and their life style and don't miss Nagthali view point. I have had a wonderful time for 14 days in Nepal. I have a lot of pictures from my trek, and needless to say great memories.
