Reference to the authority given by the 15th meeting of Covid-19 Crisis Management Committee (CCMC) to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation regarding the formulation of Visitor's Protocol on Travelling to Nepal, the Ministry has made the following decisions.
The Visa-On-Arrival service shall resume from all air, and land entry points to Nepal.
All travelers flying into Nepal must obtain a COVID-19 Negative Report (RT-PCR/Gene Xpert/True NAAT or equivalent) within 96 hours prior to their departure from the first point of embarkation to Nepal. Children below 5 years are exempted from submitting such a report.
All travelers flying into Nepal except Indian Nationals will need to retake a PCR test upon arrival to Nepal. The Swab Collection for the required passengers will be done at Tribhuvan International Airport and the PCR Report will be sent via sms/email within 24 hrs. Passengers with positive PCR results will be required to stay in quarantine as per the health protocol guidelines.
"Nepal-India Travel Bubble" agreement clauses will be applicable for all Indian Nationals traveling to Nepal.
The entry/exit points at the land borders will be opened. All travelers including Indian and Foreign nationals coming via private and tourism vehicles through borders, will be allowed. Such visitors must have a COVID-19 Negative Report (RT-PCR/Gene Xpert/True NAAT or equivalent) within 96 hours of their departure.
All travelers entering Nepal through land except Indian Nationals will need to retake a PCR test upon arrival to Nepal. The Swab Collection for the required passengers will be done at the entry points, and the PCR Report will
be sent via SMS/email within 24 hrs. Passengers with positive PCR results will be required to stay in quarantine as per the health protocol guidelines.
For travelers who are already vaccinated, they are required to show the COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate at the entry points. Such travelers will not need to retake the PCR test in Nepal and will not have to stay in quarantine.
All tourism destinations and tourism activities (hotel, restaurant, spa, rafting, and night entertainment activities) will be operated following the
prescribed guidelines and Health, Hygiene, Sanitation Protocol.
To further facilitate tourists, hotels and hospitals can coordinate together and operate COVID Care Centers if felt necessary.
All passengers entering Nepal must have Travel Insurance.

• For Trekking purposes, a valid trekking itinerary from a registered Trekking agency in Nepal. For Group Travellers, all other conditions remain as it is.
• For Travel/Tour/Rafting, itinerary prepared by registered Travel/Tour/Rafting agency.
• For FIT (Free Individual Traveller), a confirmed hotel booking is required. Regarding FIT Trekking purpose, a valid trekking itinerary, booking, and guide/porter confirmation from a registered trekking agency.
Upon submission of the above documents, the Immigration Office to provide the Visa directly to the concerned.
