Kathmandu, February 27
The number of tourists arriving on the deserted Langtang and Gosaikunda trails is increasing. Deserted for more than two years due to Covid-19, the Langtang region sees an increase in foreign tourists.
As the risk of coronavirus infection decreases and the extreme humidity in the region decreases, domestic and foreign tourists are flocking to Langtang and Gosaikunda trails.
Ram Sharan (Nissan) Gajurel, district president of the Hotel Entrepreneurs' Association, said that the hotels and lodges, which were closed due to snowfall, were gradually reopened as soon as the arrival of pedestrians started.
According to hoteliers, 15-20 internal and four to five external tourists have been arriving daily since one or two days ago. Chairman Gajurel informed that the businessmen have already started the homework of further strengthening the hotels and lodges along the route with the expectation that the tourism sector will flourish in the coming days.
Hari Aryal, 24, of Kapilvastu Banganga-8, said that the biodiversity under the religious route to Gosainkunda, the snowfall on Wednesday, and the high mountain range of western Nepal seen from the Laurivinayak area made the journey fascinating.
