Kathmandu, October 25
Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Village Municipality of Solukhumbu has suspended flights at Lukla Airport until further notice.
Stating that the coronavirus infection has increased in the municipality recently, the village municipality has written a letter to all helicopter companies including, Tara, Summit, and Sita Airlines, urging them not to bring tourists to Lukla from October 22. Chief Administrative Officer of the village municipality Binod Bhattarai has mentioned in the letter that only permanent residents of the village municipality, civil servants, and teachers will be allowed to enter.
According to the village municipality, hotels and lodges in the municipality have also been closed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Residents, teachers, and staff of the village municipality should bring a negative PCR report within 72 hours while coming to the village.
