HUMLA, October 18
Hotels of Hilsa, the northern part of Humla, are empty this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hilsa is the gateway to the Kailash-Mansarovar trek. The hotels were opened to serve the tourists visiting Kailash Mansarovar.
The hotels used to be occupied by Indian tourists before the pandemic. The manager of Hotel Snowland, Mr. Dubsan Lama, said that the hotels are empty this year during the season of trekking.
There are more than six hotels in Hilsa. The trekking season is about to end this year, but no visitors have visited this place yet. The hotel entrepreneurs are facing an economic crisis. Some domestic tourists come to visit Hilsa and Limi. They are offered free rooms, said Mr. Lama.
Owner of Hotel Mansarovar Mr. Karma Lama had served more than 9000 tourists at this time last year, but this year none of the visitors visited this place.
