Detailed Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive in Kathmandu and Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (800m), Drive to Ulleri and Trek to Banthati (2210m) – 30 min flight, 2- 3 Hours drive & 2-hour trek

Welcome to the land of peace and serenity, Nepal. Upon landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by representatives from Third Rock Adventures. Then you will transfer for a domestic flight to the 'city of lakes,' Pokhara.

Following the scenic 30 minutes flight enjoying the views of Mt. Macchapuchre, the guide will take you on a drive to Ulleri, which is further up the hills. Depending upon your arrival time, you will have some rest at Ulleri, then begin your trek towards Banthati.

Banthati is situated in the hills with views of Annapurna surrounding the village. After the first day's short trek, rest, interact with the locals, and enjoy a warm welcome dinner.

Overnight at Banthati.

Day 2
Trek to Tadapani (2,600m) via Ghorepani - 8 to 9 hours (15km) trek

On this day, you will take a long trek from Banthati to Tadapani. Begin the initial leg of the trek by enjoying the jungle walk up until Ghorepani, where you will stop for a break. You might witness some rare birds in the treelines. Ghorepani is one of the major hubs for tourists who stay the night in one of the many tea houses and lodges. The village is adorned with panoramic views of Mt. Machapuchre and Annapurna range up close.

From Ghorepani to Tadapani is a shorter hike that lasts about 2 to 3 hours. However, many tourists also prefer to hike up to Poon Hill, a majestic viewpoint that seems to be floating above the clouds. It offers excellent views of ranges such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Mardi Himal. Poon Hill is a short distance from Ghorepani, so you can hike there if you are interested and time permits.

From there, trek through thick forests and many stone stairs to Tadapani, where you will witness some tea houses for your stay.

Overnight at Tadapani.

Day 3
Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (2170m) - 5 to 6 hours (13km) trek

After breakfast, you leave for Chhomrong, which is a tiresome, yet adventurous trek. Chhomrong is further north of Tadapnai and offers up close and amazing views of the Mardi Himal, almost too good to be true. However, the trek takes you through some rugged trails and some with a lot of stone steps. However, you get a chance to explore the traditional houses, culture, and activities of the local communities along the way.

At Chhomrong, Himchuli Himalayas will also come into view along with the other ranges. This is also regarded as a significant point of the upper areas of the Annapurna Sanctuary. There are many lodges and tea houses to choose from.

Overnight at Chhomrong.

Day 4
Trek to Landruk (1,565m) via hot spring - 5 to 6 hours (9km) trek

Make sure you wake early in the morning to enjoy the amazing sunrise views of the hills and mountains of the Annapurna Sanctuary. After breakfast, pack your belongings and begin another day's trek to Landurk. Descending from the thick treelines, you will reach Taglung, while the Annapurna South never leaves your sight. You might come across small streams and bridges to cross, which is exciting.

Eventually, you will reach Jhinu, known for its famous hot springs. Down in the middle of the jungle, you can stop to enjoy the hot spring and relax your muscles. After a while, continue your hike back to Landruk.

A little further away, Landruk comes into view, a small Gurung village that sits beside the Modi River.

Overnight at Landruk.

Day 5
Trek to Australian Camp (2,100m/6,560ft) - 5 to 6 hours (7km) trek

This is an exciting day as you will trek to the popular Australian Camp, so begin your day early. Covered with rhododendron and oak treelines, the trail is as beautiful as the views of the mountains surrounding it. There are a lot of ascents and descends on the way, which makes the trekking experience challenging but rewarding as well.

Eventually, after reaching the Australian Camp, you can sit in one of the long chairs to enjoy the panoramic views of the Annapurna massif closeup. Witness the sunset on the mountains as you head to your tea house.

Overnight in Australian Camp.

Day 6
Trek from Australian Camp (2,100m/6,560ft) to Kande and drive to Pokhara, Pokhara sightseeing - 2 to 3 hours (7km) trek and 1-hour drive

Australian Camp View from Australian Camp

Wake up before dawn to experience one of the most amazing views you have ever witnessed. As the sun rises, you will get amazing views of the golden Himalayas like Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, Himchuli, Annapurna II and IV, and Lamjung Himal. This is a scene worth the early morning wake. After breakfast, pack your belongings and trek through forests, pass suspension bridges, and then through paddy fields to Kande. A vehicle will be waiting to drive you to Pokhara city to enjoy the rest of the day.

After reaching your hotel and taking some rest, head out to enjoy a quick boating spree in the Phewa Lake and stop at the Island temple of Tal Barahi. Depending on your time, you can also explore the International Mountain Museum, check out the Seti gorge, and explore the city.

Late at night, enjoy in a local pub or club and taste mouth-watering Thakali cuisine.

Overnight stay in Pokhara.

Day 7
Morning flight to Kathmandu and Sightseeing in Kathmandu and evening departure

Kathmandu Durbar Square Kathmandu Durbar Square

An early morning flight on this day will take you back to Kathmandu. After landing, you will be taken on a guided tour around the city. One of the best agencies in Nepal. Highly recommend. Don't think twice.

Naba (the owner) is beyond amazing, no words can describe how a gentleman he is. He managed to book a last minute trip for me to Poon Hill. He is very thoughtful and takes care of the little tiny details. He made sure that I am well taken care of and having the best time in Nepal. Also the guide Shailesh and the porter Prakash were fantastic. They took care of me every step of the way. They were very patient, knowledgeable & respectful. Honestly I couldn't ask for more. I will definitely book more trips with them.

Trek to Australian Camp

Annapurna view trek for 7 days was amazing adventure. We hired Naba's guide and porter for the trek. Naba even customized the trek for us so that we could stay 2 extra days in the mountains. We added Ghandruk for the last day from Pokhara. It was best there.

Annapurna View Trek

It was a great short trek. I trekked with Bimal with whom I already did Langtan trek. He is young, and enthusaistic with lots of potential as a trekking guide. He ensured I had the best facilities available. The highest point of the trek was at altitude of 2100m but still had insane view of Annapurna ranges and Lamjung Himal. The local people up there, specially the owner of the lodge we stayed was really welcoming and kind. She offered me hot water and soup everytime I said it's cold here. It was great gesture of welcoming guest. We returned to Kathmandu in about a week and had dinenr with the team. Third Rock are great company for trek in Nepal.

Annapurna View Trek

John, Rebecca and I did this short trek around Pokhara. We had a conversation with Naba on Whatsapp about the trek preparation and other stuff. He was polite, welcoming, and open to any discussion. The guide was lovely person, energetic and has his own charisma to make us feel energetic every day. I loved many places there but Australian Camp was the finest place up there. It was a bit cold in the morning, else everything was just fine.

Annapurna view trek

It was a great trek with Bimal Thapa. He was friendly and dedicated to serve us his best. The trek let us enjoy beautiful sunrise view over Annapurna range in Nepal. The room in the mountains are different, yet cozy to sleep after day's trekking. Every morning, Bimal would check us and ask for warm water and egg. They are really good company and we are thankful that we booked with them for our first ever trek in Nepal.
