Bandipur Homestay and Poon Hill Trek - 11 days

A representative from Third Rock Adventures will pick you up from the airport upon your arrival and take you to the hotel. Today, you will meet your trek leader, and the team and have a quick discussion. In your leisure, stroll around the Thamel area and explore the Ason area, the busiest marketplace in Kathmandu. Further, head to Indrachowk to witness the vibrant market street.

A tour or adventure in Nepal is arguably incomplete without sightseeing the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage sites located in Kathmandu. Explore Boudhanath, the biggest stupa in Nepal; Swayambhunath also called the Monkey Temple; Pashupatinath, the holiest Hindu Temple; and the Kathmandu Durbar Square. After returning, pack your bags and prepare for the next day.

We will book a private vehicle to travel to Bandipur from Kathmandu. To the west of Kathmandu, about 140km away, Bandipur waits for your arrival. It takes about 5 hours to reach Bandipur on a private vehicle. Bandipur is a beautifully preserved Newari town, also dubbed living "museum of Newari culture." Bandipur hosts an old-time cultural atmosphere and this is the very reason why many tourists travel to Bandipur. After reaching Bandipur, we will relax, and enjoy what Bandipur has to offer.

Today we will explore the beauty and charms of Bandipur. The street lined with traditional houses-cum-hotels gives different vibes to first-time visitors. After early morning breakfast, we will climb up to Thani Mai Temple Viewpoint to embrace the spectacular sunrise view. We will head to the northeast of Bandipur to visit Bindebasini Temple. And hike to Siddha Gufa Cave, the largest cave in Nepal.

On this day, we will drive to Hile from Bandipur. Hile is the starting point of this trek. Trek slowly across a typical Nepalese landscape, through the verdant forests of Annapurna Conservation Area. A steep and long ascend from Hile to Ulleri is often considered a tough climb. In a couple of hours, you'll reach Ulleri, a beautiful Gurung Village. The surrounding area from Ulleri grants amazing views of the mountain.

Today, we will continue to walk on the stone steps leading to Ghorepani. The trail is adorned with colorful rhododendron trees and reveals the stunning views of Mt. Fishtail and Annapurna South. Today's trek is mostly uphill through pristine forests, past waterfalls, and small rivers. At the entrance of the Ghorepani, get your permits checked and settle at the teahouse.

Finally, today we will be at Poon Hill Viewpoint to embrace incredible 360-degree views of Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli. We will wake up before dawn and hike up the hill to the viewpoint just in time to catch the first rays of the sunlight. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Poon Hill from Ghorepani. Later head down to Ghorepani and descend slowly to our destination Tadapani.

On this day, we will march northeast towards Jhinu Danda. Enjoy a light breakfast with mesmerizing morning view and trek through lush rhododendron forests. The trail passes through Chomrong and Taulung before reaching the destination of the day, Jhinu Danda. Upon reaching Jhinu Danda, trekking for about 7 hours, you can relax your sore muscle in the natural hot spring.

The last leg of the trek takes you to Pokhara via Matque. Walk past terraced fields and traditional farms and reach Siwai in about 2 hours. From here, you can board a vehicle to Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara, check into your hotel and freshen up. Later in the day, you can explore the Lakeside area. Sit by the serene Phewa Lake, gazing at Machhpuchhre’s reflection and colorful boats.

Overnight in Pokhara.

Take an afternoon flight to Kathmandu. Before the flight, you can try paragliding or explore Pokhara. The choice is yours. Please be informed that this will incur extra costs. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you can do your souvenir shopping in Thamel. Celebrate the successful adventure with a complimentary farewell dinner with your guide.
