Detailed Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,593ft) and Trip Preparation

Your Golden Triangle tour starts once you land at Kathmandu International Airport. After completing all airport formalities, you'll meet a representative from Third Rock Adventures. Drive to the hotel. Get some refreshments and visit our head office for a brief trip meeting. Here you'll get trip information like itinerary, transportation, and other important details. If you have any queries, you can put them forward. 

Later, you can explore the neighborhood. Thamel is a bustling place full of restaurants, cafes, pubs, trekking stores, etc. You can enjoy nighttime and have dinner at any fine restaurants with live music.

Day 2
A full-day Recreational Tour of Kathmandu Valley

Boudhanath Stupa Boudhanath Stupa, an iconic Buddhist temple in Kathmandu, Nepal.

After breakfast, head out for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, which combines beautiful Hindu and Buddhist cultures. The city is full of art and UNESCO heritage sites. From heritage sites representing a blended historical past to the flavors of different cultures, touring Kathmandu is touring the entire country's culture in one place.

You'll visit old religious landmarks like Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath temple, and Boudhanath stupa. You can worship and take blessings from God. Many people believe that visiting these sacred places brings solace to their lives. Finally, you'll explore the culturally rich site of Kathmandu Durbar Square Area. Later, before returning to the hotel, you can enjoy dinner at any fine restaurant in Thamel.

Day 3
Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan - 5 to 6 hours (150 km) drive

Early morning you’ll have breakfast and drive to Chitwan. Once you've settled in at your hotel, you'll enjoy lunch and meet your private tour guide. Start your sightseeing with a visit to Sauraha, one of the famous towns in Chitwan. 

The wilderness of Chitwan has lured many nature lovers, wildlife photographers, and adventure enthusiasts to spend glorious days amidst the refreshing vistas. This natural place is blessed with lush green grasslands, bubbling rivers, and scenic surroundings, making it a natural abode. You can explore the riverside area near the Rapti river. In the evening, you can witness vibrant Tharu dance performances.

Day 4
Full-Day Jungle Safari Activities in Chitwan National Park


Today you'll experience a jungle safari in Chitwan National Park, which teems with wildlife. You'll get plenty of options for Jungle Safari, including a jeep ride, canoeing ride, jungle walk, and tower night stay. 

It is home to myriad wild animals like the One-horned Rhino, Royal Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, Sloth bear, Golden Jackal, Hog Deer, Sambhar, Striped Hyenas, Bengal Foxes, Gaur (Indian Bison), etc. Along with animals, there are more than 600 species of birds, both resident and migratory, including Great Hornbill, Kingfisher, Pheasants, and Barbets. Also, the Rapti river, which flows through the park, harbors species of crocodiles such as Gharial and Mugger.

Day 5
Drive from Chitwan to Pokhara - 4 to 5 hours (135 km) drive

Today you can enjoy an early sunrise view over the Rapti river. If time permits, you can opt for a canoeing ride for bird watching. Return to the hotel and have a sufficient breakfast. Then, you'll begin your scenic road journey to Pokhara. The lake's shining waters and green hills stretch out to the one side, and dense forests climb high on another side. Once you reach Pokhara, you can settle in and head out to explore the lakeside area in the evening.

Day 6
A full-day Sightseeing Tour of Pokhara


After breakfast at the hotel, meet your tour guide and start sightseeing in Pokhara by visiting Davis Falls. Your guide will explain to you the history behind naming this waterfall. Next, you'll visit the world-famous pilgrim site of Gupteshwor Mahadev temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It lies close to Davis waterfall, and you can see the bottom of Davis Falls as you walk down the stairs. 

The next destination is the International Mountain Museum of Pokhara. It houses a collection of several artifacts and information related to life and mountain climbing people. Finally, you'll visit the Tibetan Refugee camp. You'll stroll around these sizeable settlements and explore Tibetan-style Buddhist monasteries, schools, and handicraft shops. Later, after concluding your one-day sightseeing tour in Pokhara, you can enjoy your evening at the serene lakeside area of Phewa Lake.

Day 7
Drive or fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara: 6 to 7 hours (200 km) drive or 25 min flight

Today you can either fly or drive back to Kathmandu. If you take flight options, it will take 25-30 minutes to reach Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check in at your hotel and enjoy your day leisurely. If you opt for an overland trip, you'll reach Kathmandu within 6-7 hours. You can explore the nearby Thamel area if you reach Kathmandu in the late evening.

Day 8
Final Departure

Depending on your departure, the morning is free to enjoy a hot cup of coffee. Later, a representative from Third Rock Adventures will transfer you to Kathmandu International Airport to board your scheduled flight.
