Nepal is an adventure lover’s paradise. The country has eight of the fourteen highest peaks in the world, including the tallest - Mount Everest. Trekking in Nepal is a unique experience. Every trekking season, trekkers from all over the world flock to Nepal to walk on the mountainous trails. In most of the trekking routes, one can avail of food and accommodation facilities at teahouses or mountain lodges. The trekking trails range from easy to difficult and challenging. There is a trail for everyone; from novices or beginners to the seasoned and hardy trekkers looking for a challenge.

The most popular treks in Nepal include Everest Base Camp TrekAnnapurna Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, Gokyo Valley Trek, and Langtang Trek. If you want to walk through a challenging trail, then you are better off trekking through Everest Base Camp Gokyo Lakes Cho La Pass and Gokyo Lakes Gokyo Ri Renjo La trails. If you are a first-timer trekking in the Himalayas then the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek or the Langtang Valley Trek is best suited for you. The hills around Kathmandu and Pokhara serve as ideal destinations for short day hikes. If you are in either of these cities and are looking for a hiking adventure, then you can try hiking around Nagarkot or Champa Devi in Kathmandu and Naudanda Sarangkot Hike in Pokhara.

The best months to trek are January to June and October to December. Rainy or monsoon season is known as ‘off-season’ as the trails get dangerous due to the rains. Trekking and hiking in Nepal are fun and full of adventure. There is something for everybody, be it long adventurous treks or short easy hikes, which are equally rewarding.

Third Rock Adventures
It wasn an amazing experience being in such a naturally beautiful place in earth. I did a trek with Third Rock Adventures in Mustang. We had a team of crew including our guide Bimal from the company. We organized everything from Italy then we met Bimal in Katmandu and he continued organizing everything from meeting in the office, bus to pokhara, flights, permits. Trek was fantastic. Bimal found out alternative treks in order to avoid the new road...

The walk between Jomsom to Lo-manthang was awe inspiring. Naturally it was so beautiful that it inspired us to visit Nepal again. Harsh conditions, no shade or anywhere to sit down combined with the afternoon wind, made this difficult for us but we enjoyed the challenges very well because we have a professional and experienced guide Mr. Shiva from Third Rock Adventures. The scenery was stunning, villages were jaw droppingly interesting. Upon our ...

Guinness World Record holder Gives Third Rock Adventures a Review!

werner berger

Werner Berger is the Guinness Book of World Records holder for being the oldest person in the World to have climbed the highest mountain on each of the seven (7) continents (incl. Mt. Everest).

I am Werner Berger and my "claim to fame" is probably best defined as being in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest person in the world to have climbed the highest mountain on each of the seven continents, including Mt. Everest.

Little did I know my life was to change forever on my first trek into the Himalaya in 1992 at age 55. It was the beginning and just a matter time before I realized I could combine my leadership and climbing skills to create a program in which people could explore their own possibilities.

So, in 2010, I began leading Transformational Life Experiences, treks to Mt. Everest Base Camp and other high places.

One of the earliest keys to success is to find a company with the right mix of professionalism, support, and, of course, experience. I have used Naba Amgai and his teams on all my Nepal trekking adventures.

Naba's caring and climber support, is second to none. In my estimation, Third Rock Adventures is one of the very best in the business, in or outside of Nepal. They know the mountains. So you can relax, enjoy and transform.

- Werner Berger
